While I ruminate on my Deus Ex: Human Revolution experience, I have some new lab safety products to talk about … handily delivered to my inbox. I’m thinking of calling my Deus Ex posts something along the lines of “I am not Adam Jenson, Either” referencing the excellent post by Alec Meer on RPS: I am not Adam Jenson. I have a bunch of different reasons, but my thoughts are still a little muddled on the game. Don’t get me wrong: it was good, but was it that good?
Anyways… on to our topic: preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse. While firearms and melee weapons are pretty much standard fare for the well-equipped Zombie warrior, they don’t do you any good if you get infected. It would be handy if you had some protection. Good news!
The 3m Full Face Respirator Mask is a good start. You don’t want to get caught with an airborne Zombie Virus … and even if it isn’t, it always seems bad to me when blood spatter is near the eye, nose and mouth membranes — if a bite is going to infect you, I’d be worried about blood on the face too. Besides with the decidedly pinkish filters (maybe the colour denotes what they filter?) the mask gives a seriously bad-ass look to any Zombie Killer. Don’t get caught without protection.
On the other hand, full body protection for only $20 is hard to pass up. A full body suit (looks like the gloves, tape and boots are extra, but still…) protects you from blood spatter all over. As above, you don’t want to get blood on your last papercut to be your own personal infection vector.
Add a shotgun or a flamethrower, and you’re set!
For a daily blog, this is sure short of postings …
